  Expert on Turkish threats to Russia: dangerous to joke with nuclear power August 14, 2012 - 12:56 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - It’s dangerous to joke with a nuclear power, political analyst said. “Russia stands ready to use force in defense of the South Caucasus due to the region’s being in the country’s geo-political interests,” Levon Shirinyan said, commenting on Turkish MP Sinan Ogan’s statement, claiming Azerbaijan and Turkey will ban Russia from backing Armenia in case of Nagorno Karabakh war. In this context, the expert noted that Marshal Yevgeny Shaposhnikov’s statement that ”Turkish armed forces’ approaching Araks River would signal the start of the third world war” averted Turkey’s military intervention in the South Caucasus back in 1991-92. Mr. Shirinyan further deemed final retreat of Armenia as a political actor as Turkey’s priority. “Sinan Ogan’s remarks prove Turks’ representing an aggressive nation, that constantly try to go beyond their scope,” the expert said.
