10 667 tourists visit Artsakh in Jan-Aug 2012![]() PanARMENIAN.Net - 10 667 foreign citizens visited the Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic as of August 21, 2012, according to NKR Ministry of Foreign Affairs Consular Service. In July 2012, 3 723 people (2 165 people in July of 2011) arrived in the republic; and since August 1 – 21, the number of visitors amounted to 3 124 people (2 870 people in August of 2011). In the first half-year of 2012, 3 820 foreign citizens visited the NKR, which exceeds the index of the same period in 2011 by 874 or 29,6%. Despite Azerbaijani-created problems tourist inflow to Artsakh continues to grow, with the region listed among top tourist attractions in the world. Tourists are attracted by the ancient historical monuments, gorgeous nature, picturesque canyons, as well as the friendliness and hospitality of Artsakh people, NKR MFA press service reported. The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington.
