U.S. drone attack kills 12 suspected militants in Pakistan August 24, 2012 - 13:54 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Pakistani intelligence officials say American drone-fired missiles have slammed into militant hideouts close to the Afghan border in North Waziristan, killing 12 suspected militants. According to AP, the strikes Friday, Aug 24 were the fourth in the span of a week, despite repeated Pakistani protests. The officials said each of the three compounds was hit by two missiles. They said militants often use these hideouts when they are crossing into Afghanistan. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to reporters.   Top stories Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. In 2023, the Azerbaijani government will increase the country’s defense budget by more than 1.1 billion manats ($650 million). The bill, published on Monday, is designed to "eliminate the shortcomings of an unreasonably broad interpretation of the key concept of "compatriot". The earthquake caused a temporary blackout, damaged many buildings and closed a number of rural roads.
