Dell announces XPS Duo 12 convertible laptop for Windows 8![]() August 30, 2012 - 12:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Dell has announced the XPS Duo 12, a new convertible laptop made for Windows 8. The new Dell XPS Duo 12 is both a clamshell laptop and a tablet - a combination usually referred to as a hybrid or convertible laptop. Most hybrids detach from their keyboards, while convertibles swivel their screens around via a single hinge at the base of the lid, folding down over the keyboard. Like the original Duo, this model works a little differently. The screen is hinged in the center of the far left and right sides, allowing it to swivel vertically, encased in a thin outer frame, CNET reports. The release date or price is unclear, although it's expected by the end of 2012 Partner news Microsoft revealed last week that it received 6-7,000 requests implicating 31-32,000 accounts in the last six months. It is believed that Fisa requests typically seek much more information. But it remains unclear how broad the Fisa orders might be. The acquisitions are the latest in a string under Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, who is rebuilding the company on the fly. By mid-July, users will get to apply for IDs of their choice, and will find out which one they have got by mid-August. Partner news |
