World Chess Olympiad: Armenia-Germany 9th round pairings named

PanARMENIAN.Net - 9th round pairings of Istanbul-hosted World Chess Olympiad have been announced with Armenian team to face off against Germany.

The board pairings were named as follows: Levon Aronian-Arkadij Naiditsch, Vladimir Akopian-Georg Meier, Sergei Movsesian-Igor Khenkin, Gabriel Sargissian-Daniel Fridman.

After the 8th round, Armenian team has gained 13 points to be placed 3, while Germany is 5th.

Tournament leader Russia will rival U.S. team, while the runner-up, China will face Philippines.
