Sony Mobile Communications servers under cyberattackSeptember 6, 2012 - 13:50 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Sony Corp. said Thursday, Sept 6 that servers of a third-party vendor to which its unit, Sony Mobile Communications, outsources data management came under cyberattack, resulting in a leak of information on 400 customers in China and Taiwan, according to MarketWatch. A Sony spokeswoman said data on customer names and e-mail addresses was leaked, but credit-card and bank-account information hadn't been stolen. The Japanese company said it is investigating the source of the attack and other matters. Earlier Thursday, the Nikkei reported that a group believed linked with the hacker collective known as Anonymous said it stole customer information from Sony Mobile Communications.
