Toyota Motor Corp. said Tuesday, Sept 25 that production of Lexus luxury models was being adjusted at its 100 percent owned Kyushu subsidiary in southwestern Japan, but declined to give numbers or other details. According to Toyota, production at no other plant in Japan has been affected over the China woes. The maker of the Prius hybrid and Camry sedan said operations are back to normal at all its plants and dealers in China as of Monday. Some had shut temporarily. The purchase by the Japanese government of tiny islands, controlled by Japan but claimed by Beijing, set off riots across China last week.
