Barak says Israel ‘ready for any challenge’

PanARMENIAN.Net - Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak reiterated on Thursday, Sept 27, that his country is ready for any challenge, but that Israel could not rely on anyone but themselves, The Jerusalem Post reported.

Speaking at the memorial service for the 1973 war's victims, Barak stated: "The region around us is alight. The IDF and security forces are ready for any challenge, be it near or far."

He continued: "When faced with the ultimate test, we can rely on no one but ourselves," he said.

The annual memorial ceremony for the victims of the Yom Kippur War was held on Jerusalem's Mount Herzl.
