RPA rep. snubs remarks on Oskanian case politicization

PanARMENIAN.Net - Parliament vice-speaker, member of the ruling republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Eduard Sharmazanov slammed Prosperous Armenia party’s remarks, suggesting stripping former foreign minister Vartan Oskanian of congressional immunity is political persecution of the party he represents.

“I oppose the point claiming political forces suffer persecution in Armenia,” he said.

Dwelling on Oskanian’s accusation, saying charges against Civilitas Foundation pose a threat to democracy in Armenia, the parliament vice-speaker noted “democracy was no better 10 years ago.”
