Expert sees administrative violations in Oskanian case

PanARMENIAN.Net - Only administrative violations have been recorded in former foreign minister Vartan Oskanian’s case, Armenian political analyst said.

“Though stripping an MP of deputy immunity is too much, I don’t think the case was politically motivated. It’s unfounded to say that Oskanian’s possible becoming a presidential candidate sparked concerns unless Prosperous Armenia announces the format of participation in the upcoming elections,” Sergey Shakaryants said.

The expert further stressed the need to address the funds misuse problem to Huntsman Building Products company, rather than the ex-minister.

“The problem bears merely a personal character, with the government remaining unchanged during Oskanian’s term of office. Moreover, the so-much criticized Prime Minister was the president of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) at that time,” Mr. Shakaryants said.
