“Satanic Verses” author Rushdie talks “Fifty Shades of Grey”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Salman Rushdie has said that he is not a fan of Fifty Shades of Grey, Digital Spy said.

Speaking at the New York Festival over the weekend, the author of The Satanic Verses admitted that he had not read EL James's erotic bestseller in full.

Rushdie said that he had read a page or two of the book via Amazon's preview service.

"I've never read anything so badly written that got published," he said.

"It made Twilight look like War and Peace."

Earlier this year, Lace author Shirley Conran called the publishing phenomenon as "baby porn" worse than mediocre, while Barbara Taylor Bradford expressed disappointment at the lack of bondage action.

Andy Murray's girlfriend Kim Sears has said that she is not a fan of the novel and actress Emma Watson has not read the book or script.
