3.5 million tweets sent during U.S. vice presidential debate

PanARMENIAN.Net - Twitter said a total of 3.5 million tweets were sent during the U.S. vice presidential debate, according to Mashable.

That’s about a third of the 10.3-million mark the first presidential debate of the 2012 election hit last week.

Tweets-per-minute peaked at 58,275 just after Joe Biden’s “Oh, now you’re Jack Kennedy?” quip.

The second most-tweeted moment was Biden’s comment on Afghanistan at 54,944 tweets-per-minute, followed by Ryan’s line about the Democrats getting “caught with their hand in the cookie jar” on Medicare.

The Obama campaign made quick Twitter ad purchases on hashtag-friendly moments, including #Malarky and “Jack Kennedy.” Biden’s “malarky” comment hit 31,008 tweets-per-minute.
