U.S. official hails Armenia’s position on Karabakh issue

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met October 17 with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Eric Rubin.

Minister Nalbandian noted that Armenian-U.S. cooperation covers various areas, RA MFA reported.

The U.S. official, in turn, said that his country gives high assessment to partnership with Armenia, stressing the importance of political, economic and defense cooperation.

The two men dwelt on the upcoming meeting of the Armenian-U.S. working group on economic cooperation due October 18.

Minister Nalbandian further briefed Eric Rubin on the latest development of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, with the U.S. official haling Armenia’s constructive position on the issue.

At the meeting, the parties focused on the prospects of bilateral relations, and cooperation in the framework of international organizations.
Dwelling on the hike in gas prices, Iskandaryan said the change also affected other countries importing Russian gas.
Armen Martirosyan noted that the price rise will further deteriorate the situation in the country, fostering emigration.
In this connection, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian left for Strasbourg to attend CoE foreign ministers meeting.
