Google confirms Android launch event details![]() October 18, 2012 - 19:44 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Google has confirmed initial details for an Android launch event, according to Digital Spy. The company has issued an invite bearing the message "The playground is open" to promote the event, which will take place on October 29 in New York City. Although details surrounding the launch are minimal, TechCrunch reports that the event could relate to the rumoured Nexus smartphone. It has been claimed that Carphone Warehouse has ordered an LG Nexus 4 smartphone for sale in the UK. The rumoured LG Optimus G Nexus has been tipped for a November release, and will apparently run a refreshed version of the Jelly Bean operating system. Google was also reported to be releasing a $99 Nexus 7 tablet computer by the end of 2012. However, device-maker Asus has since refuted such claims. Google's launch event will begin at 10am local time, and will also be streamed on YouTube at youtube.com/android.
