U.S. warehouse in Afghanistan burnt in insurgent attack

PanARMENIAN.Net - Insurgents have attacked a warehouse full of food and supplies for troops with rocket-propelled grenades at the main U.S. base in Afghanistan late Friday, Oct 19, sparking a fire that destroyed the warehouse and everything inside, The Associated Press reported.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said in an email that the fire at the Supreme Group compound destroyed a "large stock of food meant for U.S. troops."

Supreme Group spokeswoman Victoria Frost said no one was injured and the fire was contained by morning, though some areas were still smoldering. She said they are working to make up for the lost inventory with supplies from other warehouses.
