Guatemalan official: 2012 marks new stage in ties with Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with President of Congress of Guatemala Gudy Rivera Estrada.

Estrada noted that with 2012 symbolizing the start of a new era according to Maya calendar, the year will also signal a new stage of Armenian-Guatemalan ties.

Gudy Rivera Estrada, in turn, conveyed Guatemalan MPs’ readiness to establish a friendship group aiming to deepen relations with Armenia.

The two men further discussed prospects for development of cooperation between the two countries’ parliaments, voicing confidence that parliamentary diplomacy will contribute to strengthening of ties.
