Levon Shirinyan noted the Democrats’ victory beneficial for Armenia, as they don’t consider Russia its top enemy and pursue relatively moderate policy against Iran. Asked why neither Obama, nor Romney met with Armenian lobbies, the expert noted the candidates’ reluctance to assume any obligations against Turkey ahead of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and the U.S. decreasing interest in Armenia after Georgia’s taking up the role of a Caucasian country to adopt pro-Western stance as the two main reasons.
