Expert says ANC catches at a straw

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc catches at a straw, taking unfounded steps to save its further existence, political expert said.

“The ANC exhausted itself after its leader Levon Ter-Petrossian took no decisive measures in 2008 to assume power, thus showing his reluctance,” Armen Aghayan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, commenting on ANC parliamentary group member Lyudmila Sargsyan’s statement claiming the bloc mustn’t join any other forces.

The expert further noted ANC’s statement expressing readiness to cooperate even with the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharian and the current leader Serzh Sargsyan unfounded.

“They are trying to somehow establish cooperation areas with Prosperous Armenia and turn a blind eye to Kocharian’s being behind the party,” Mr. Aghayan said, deeming it a manifestation of a crisis.
