Timur Bekmambetov’s “Snow Queen” animation film trailer released

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Snow Queen has debuted an English-language trailer, Digital Spy said.

The Wizart Animation film is one of the most anticipated Russian releases of 2012.

Based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairytale, the animated movie centres around a boy called Kai who is kidnapped by the wicked Snow Queen.

His sister Gerda embarks on a quest to rescue him with the aid of the Queen's put-upon troll minion.

Producer/director Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted, 9) is producer and distributor on the film through his company Bazelevs Group.

"In my view, there are many talented people in Russia who in the future may become competitors to such studios as Pixar or DreamWorks," said Bekmambetov.

"As to The Snow Queen, when we first saw the project we immediately felt its great potential and decided to step in as co-producers."

The Snow Queen will debut in Russia on December 31. It will be screened for international buyers in November.
