Baku demands security guarantees for Yerevan championships

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan has named National Olympic Committee of Armenia, RA Ministry of Sport and Boxing Federation as the three organizations to issue security guarantees for participation in the 2012 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships.

“RA National Olympic Committee, RA Ministry of Sport and Boxing Federation must issue security guarantees to Azerbaijan. These were the guarantees Baku presented to secure Armenian boxers’ participation in Azerbaijan-hosted world championships,” azerisport.com reported.

Yerevan will host 2012 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships from November 25 to December 8, with Azerbaijan having voiced intention to participate in the event.

As Armenian Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs spokesperson Astghik Martirosyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, the Armenian side sent an official letter to Azerbaijani Boxing Federation, issuing security guarantees.
