“Battlestar Galactica” composer to write “Da Vinci's Demons” scores

PanARMENIAN.Net - Starz's Da Vinci's Demons is getting a dose of The Walking Dead, The Hollywood Reporter said.

Composer Bear McCreary, also known for his music on Battlestar Galactica, will write the score for the upcoming eight-episode historical drama series from David S. Goyer launching next spring.

Da Vinci's Demons centers on the "untold" story of the world's greatest genius, Leonardo da Vinci (played by Tom Riley), during his turbulent youth in Renaissance Florence.

"I've been a fan of Bear's since hearing his score for Battlestar Galactica, which was inspired and unexpected. We wanted something similarly grand, but unconventional for Da Vinci’s Demons," said Goyer in a statement.

McCreary's recent credits include AMC's The Walking Dead, Fox's Human Target, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Syfy's Eureka, Caprica, Trauma and NBC's The Cape. On the big screen, he has composed music for Knights of Badassdom with Peter Dinklage and Summer Glau.
