KOCHARIAN INVITED SLOVAK PRESIDENT TO ARMENIA

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Robert Kocharian met with EU Commissioner for External Relations and the European Neighborhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Waldner, reported Mediamax news agency. In the course of the meeting the parties discussed issues, relating to the working out of the Action Plan within the Wider Europe: New Neighbors EU Program. Benita Ferrero-Waldner welcomed the fact that a special inter-departmental group is formed in Armenia to work out the Program. Besides, the interlocutors discussed the reforms in Armenia, specifically, the reform of the Constitution and the Electoral Code. Robert Kocharian also met with Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic, Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus and Cyprian President Tassos Papadopoulos. The Armenian President invited Ivan Gasparovich to visit Armenia. In the course of the meeting with Tassos Papadopoulos an agreement was made on mutual visits of the Presidents, the terms of these will be specified via diplomatic channels. May 17 Robert Kocharian will meet with Georgian leader Mikhail Saakashvili and then the Armenian delegation will return to Yerevan.
