“Che” scribe Peter Buchman to re-write “A Man Must Die” political thrillerNovember 21, 2012 - 17:28 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Peter Buchman is set to rewrite Focus Features’ political thriller A Man Must Die for director Gerardo Naranjo. Pablo Cruz is producing through Canana USA, Deadline said. Based on a true story, A Man Must Die surrounds the assassination of Orlando Letelier, a Chilean diplomat in the 1970’s who was targeted and killed in Washington D.C. by agents of the Pinochet regime. This story focuses on the FBI investigator who starts to suspect a government conspiracy surrounding the murder. Naranjo, who helmed Miss Bala, wrote the original screenplay. Buchman scripted both of the Che films for director Steven Soderbergh and Benicio Del Toro. Most recently, Buchman wrote the apocalyptic sci-fi film The Edge for Fox, which John Moore is attached to direct. Buchman’s credits include Jurassic Park III and Eragon.
