In the film, Pitt plays Jackie Cogan, a professional enforcer who's tasked with looking into a heist that occurred during a mob-protected poker game. Pitt has plenty of competition in the badass department in the film; the cast also includes James Gandolfini and Ray Liotta, who've developed pretty solid reputations for playing tough guys on screen.
