Levon Aronian unsuccessful at London Chess Classic

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian suffered a defeat by Norway’s Magnus Carlsen in the second round of London Chess Classic.

He earlier lost to Hikaru Nakamura (U.S.) to score no points at the tournament.

Carlsen and Russia’s Vladimir Kramnik share 1-2 places with 6 points each.

Aronian will face off against India’s Viswanathan Anand in the 3rd round.

The London Chess Classic 2012 is a nine player all play all tournament. The games are played according to classical time control; 2 hours for 40 moves, followed by 1 hours for 20 moves, followed by 15 minutes + 30 seconds per move for the rest of the game.
