Tom Hooper's upcoming adaptation of the stage musical features an all-star cast including Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Samantha Barks, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen. The film tells the story of Jean Valjean (Jackman), a former prisoner who becomes mayor of a town in France. Valjean takes on the role of caring for Cosette (Seyfried), the illegitimate daughter of Fantine (Hathaway), and must avoid being captured again by Javert (Crowe), a police inspector.
