All-star “Les Misérables” rolls out 5 preview clips

PanARMENIAN.Net - Five new preview clips from Les Misérables have been released, Digital Spy reported.

Tom Hooper's upcoming adaptation of the stage musical features an all-star cast including Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Samantha Barks, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen.

The film tells the story of Jean Valjean (Jackman), a former prisoner who becomes mayor of a town in France. Valjean takes on the role of caring for Cosette (Seyfried), the illegitimate daughter of Fantine (Hathaway), and must avoid being captured again by Javert (Crowe), a police inspector.

The first clip shows the cruel prison officer Javert releasing Valjean with the haunting clip 'Javert Releases Prisoner 24601 On Parole'.

The second teaser shows Cosette's mother Fantine pleading with the foreman of the workhouse to let her stay in the ensemble performance 'At The End of The Day' after being exposed as an unwed mother.

In the third preview clip, Jackman is shown giving an impassioned performance of 'Who am I' after Valjean reaches a crossroads in his life.

The fourth teaser reveals Marius Pontmercy (Redmayne) wooing Cosette with romantic song 'A Heart Full of Love'. The pair sing a duet on their first meeting and Marius, a student revolutionary, wonders whether his cause is worth dying for.

The fifth and final teaser clip shows a drenched Eponine (Barks) singing the heartfelt 'On My Own' through the deserted French streets.

Les Misérables is out on January 11, 2013 in the UK and December 25, 2012 in the US.
