Rep. Schiff: Armenia capable of becoming Caucasus' “Silicone Valley”

PanARMENIAN.Net - On the sidelines of his U.S. visit, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met with the President of California Institute of Technology (Caltech) Jean-Lou Chameau.

At the meeting, the official briefed Mr. Chameau on the reforms in Armenia's education sector, as well as the progress in the international accreditation of the coutry's universities.

The parties further focused on the prospects of bilateral cooperation and IT sector in Armenia.

As U.S. Representative Adam Schiff Adam Schiff who also attended the meeting, said in this context, “Armenia has enough potential to become the Caucasus' “Silicone Valley”.”

A meeting with Caltech's Armenian students and U.S.-based Armenian scientists was also on Prime Minister's visit agenda, governmental press service reported.
