Brazilian-Armenian guitarist João Kouyoumdjian to perform in Yerevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan will host a concert by Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra on December 14 to mark the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between RA and Brazil.

The event will feature performance by Brazilian-Armenian guitarist João Kouyoumdjian. The concert program comprises works by Aram Satian, Leonard Bernstein, Sergei Prokofiev and other famed composers.

A graduate of The Juilliard School and winner of the 2010 Souza Lima National Competition, João Kouyoumdjian has been concertizing in the USA, Europe, Brazil and Central America. In 2011 debuted at Carnegie Hall performing a concert presented by Musical Armenia concert series and has recently performed at other prestigious venues such as Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center and Metropolitan Museum of Art. An avid chamber music performer, João Kouyoumdjian has collaborated with world-class artists such as American soprano Nadine Sierra, Brazilian violinist Tânia Camargo Guarnieri and Dutch organist Harry van Wijk.
