Nokia to unveil Windows RT tablet in 2013 – report

PanARMENIAN.Net - Nokia will release a tablet device running the Windows RT operating system next year, according to a report, Digital Spy said.

Digitimes claims to have heard from supply chain sources in Taiwan that the slate will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in February.

The report suggests that the Nokia tablet will feature a 10-inch screen and a Qualcomm S4 processor under the hood.

Nokia is said to have delayed the device due to the release of Microsoft's own Surface tablet, current models of which run the Windows RT operating system.

This is not the first time rumours of a Nokia-built tablet have emerged. Head of design Marko Ahtisaari sparked speculation by confirming the company's interest in the sector back in March.

The Mobile World Congress takes place in Barcelona between February 25 and 28.
