Psy’s "Gangnam Style" passes record 1bn mark on YouTube

PanARMENIAN.Net - Christmas came early for Psy. Then again, he has probably been living Christmas every day since "Gangnam Style" went viral last July, TheWrap said.

The music video for the hit K-pop single reached a record-breaking 1 billion YouTube views on Thursday, December 20.

The landmark achievement isn't exactly a surprise. "Gangnam Style" has been well on its way to the 10-digit record since beating Justin Bieber's "Baby" at the end of November to become the most-viewed YouTube video of all time.

And the video's impressive climb looks to be continuing. It has already racked up nearly 400,000 extra views since passing the billion mark.
