Paper says ANC leader not to run for president

PanARMENIAN.Net - According to Chorrord Ishkhanutyun daily, Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc leader Levon Ter-Petrossian has resolved against running for president.

In conversation with the paper’s reporter, the ANC leader explained his plans by a decision to yield the platform to younger politicians.

“A 68-year-old man can’t work with the same vigor as those aged 40-60,” he said, adding that even back in 2007 he announced a decision to leave politics three years later.

Asked about other reasons behind his decision, Ter-Petrossian voiced reluctance to divulge them due to their insignificant nature, the paper reported.
