Tourist inflow of 830 000 expected in Armenia in 2012![]() December 26, 2012 - 16:31 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Economy Ministry posted a projected tourist inflow of 830 000 people as of 2012, despite problems caused by unstable situation in Iran, which affected the number of tourists travelling from the country. However, as Economy Minister Tigran Davtyan told a news conference in Yerevan, a 9,2% upsurge in tourism sector was reported, with an annual growth of 10% expected. The Minister stressed the importance of relevant infrastructures in the development of the sector. A he noted a number of new hotels will be opened soon, with work to facilitate visa regime with China and India in progress. Partner news Tigran Sargsyan noted that the new plant will be constructed after the current one is finally out of operation. IFC invested $244 million in 40 projects across a range of sectors, including financial markets, manufacturing, and mining. Armenian Prime Minister addressed a letter to Public Services Regulatory Commission over the reconsideration of gas prices.
