ANC not to nominate presidential candidate

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc issued a statement, deeming it senseless to nominate a candidate and back any of the presidential hopefuls.

“After forging 2008 presidential elections, Serzh Sargsyan regime has continuously neutralized all of the chances of conducting democratic and competitive polls. Moreover, further gross violations were recorded during 2009 Yerevan City Council and 2012 parliamentary polls, with inflated voter lists becoming the major tool for frauds.

The ruling authorities foiled the joint efforts of ANC bloc, Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnakstutyun and Heritage parties to introduce radical changes to the electoral system and ensure legitimate, transparent, free and fair polls,” the statement reads.
