Iran supports Assad’s peace planJanuary 9, 2013 - 12:41 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran has endorsed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s peace plan that would promote stability and security in the country, Iran's vice-president Mohammad-Reza Rahimi has said. As The Voice of Russia reported, the ISNA news agency has cited Mr. Rahimi as calling for a meeting between Iran and Syria. He said he hoped to see Syria’s prime minister pay a visit to Tehran in the near future. Iran is the first country to throw support behind Assad’s peace initiative.
