Prosecutor General: authorities do utmost to ensure fair polls![]() January 16, 2013 - 22:00 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The ruling authorities of Armenia are taking every effort to ensure favorable conditions for fair and transparent elections, Prosecutor General said. “The legal system has serious problems to address. It must ensure the legitimacy of the polls,” Aghvan Hovsepyan said during the opening of three-day discussions on election violation cases. The Prosecutor General stressed the need to prevent election frauds and crimes, as well as to spread public awareness on their decisions and electoral processes. He further noted that the Prosecutor General's Office pursued transparent activity during 2012 parliamentary elections, posting reports throughout the process and launching a hotline. “A group has been set up to monitor media outlets on voting violations. The reports are submitted to prosecutors for consideration,” he said.
