Cooper, Fassbender lead contenders for Lance Armstrong role

PanARMENIAN.Net - Bradley Cooper and Michael Fassbender are the lead contenders to play Lance Armstrong in a forthcoming biopic, Digital Spy said.

According to Ladbrokes, the Silver Linings Playbook and Prometheus stars are leading the pack with 3/1 odds each.

Bradley Cooper told the BBC this morning that he would be interested in the role, saying: "I think he's fascinating. What a fascinating character."

Tom Hardy, Matthew McConaughey and Liam Hemsworth are next in line, with 8/1, 10/1 and 12/1 odds respectively.

McConaughey recently spoke out about his feelings regarding Armstrong's confession, admitting that he was initially "pissed off".

Ladbrokes also put the biopic's odds of winning the 'Best Picture' Oscar in 2014 at 33/1.

Star Trek director JJ Abrams recently purchased the rights to Armstrong's biography, in partnership with Paramount Pictures.

Former cyclist Armstrong confessed to having used banned substances in competition during an interview with Oprah Winfrey last week.
