HTC announces 4-inch Android-powered Desire U

PanARMENIAN.Net - Taiwanese handset manufacturer HTC has announced a 4-inch Android-powered smartphone in the form of the Desire U,tomshardware.com reported.

The mid-range device, which will initially launch in the Taiwanese market with a price of around $275, will feature a 1 GHz processor and 4 GB of storage that can be expanded. As well as 512 MB of RAM and a 480 x 800 (WVGA) display, the Desire U houses a 1650mAh battery, and supports 900 and 2100MHz HSPA, alongside 900, 1800 and 1900MHz GPRS/EDGE.

Its design, meanwhile, bears a resemblance to the HTC One and Desire smartphones, with the Desire U boasting a plastic body and rounded edges. Elsewhere, HTC is currently preparing to announce its flagship, high-end M7 smartphone during the Mobile World Congress in February.
