iTunes hits 25 billion downloads

PanARMENIAN.Net - Apple announced that it sold its 25 billionth song to Phillip Lupke in Germany who will receive a 10 000 Euro iTunes gift card, according to Forbes.

While iPod units are decreasing there were still over 32 million iPods sold in 2012 along with over 135 million iPhones. The iTunes store has over 26 million songs and 775,000 apps.

It appears that the Apple ecosystem is quite healthy with over 40 billion apps being downloaded since it opened and almost half of them in 2012. iOS apps also tend to have higher traffic and better monetization that Android apps. This should help garner good support from app developers, Forbes says.
