Earlier Hafiz Hajiyev urged cutting off Akram Aylisli's ear for a 10000 manat reward. "In any adequate country, those making such statements would be prosecuted. However, Azeri police has long been tolerant to the absurd statements by this person," Aylisli said. The author urged the country's law enforcement agencies to provide his security; otherwise, he said, "I and my family will be forced to leave the country." Aylisli's "Stone Dreams," set during the wake of Karabakh war, drew protests after its publication for its sympathetic depiction of Armenians.
