Mongrel Media, Vertigo nab Lars von Trier's “Nymphomaniac”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Mongrel Media in Canada and indie distributors Vertigo in Hungary have become to the two latest partners for Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac, snatching up local rights for the two-part erotic epic from sales group TrustNordisk, The Hollywood Reporter said.

"I am thrilled to finally have a Lars von Trier film at Mongrel Media," said Mongrel President Hussain Amarshi. "Lars is the most daring filmmaker in the world and we love his phenomenal talent at pushing the boundaries of cinema".

Nymphomaniac, which is currently in post-production, stars Charlotte Gainsbourg as a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac who recounts her erotic adventures to a lonely bachelor, played by Stellan Skarsgard. Shia LaBeouf, Uma Thurman, Christian Slater, Willem Dafoe and Jamie Bell are also among the all-star ensemble cast.

Lars von Trier has planned Nymphomaniac as two full length features, which will be released in both hard-core and soft-core versions.

TrustNordisk is close to selling out Nymphomaniac after screening a promo of material from the first part of the two-part feature. Magnolia Pictures picked up U.S. rights to the project while other big territory pre-sales include Germany (Concorde), U.K. (Artificial Eye), CIS (Central Partnership), France (Les Films du Losange) and Brazil (California Films).
