“Bad Teacher” star Thomas Lennon joins Sean Hayes' NBC comedy pilot

PanARMENIAN.Net - Reno 911! co-creator/star Thomas Lennon is returning to primetime. Lennon is set to co-star opposite Sean Hayes in NBC’s untitled Sean Hayes/Victor Fresco multi-camera comedy pilot, Deadline said.

Written by Fresco and directed by James Burrows, the comedy, from Universal TV and Hazy Mills, centers on Sean (Hayes), who must figure out how to parent his 14-year-old daughter, who just moved in, while navigating a temperamental new boss at work. Lennon will play the new boss, Max, who is blunt, gruff and seemingly fine with not being liked.

Shortly after Reno 911! ended its six-season run on Comedy Central, Lennon and his partner, Reno 911! co-creator/co-star Robert Ben Garant inked a deal NBC that led to the 2010 comedy pilot The Strip. For the past couple of years, Lennon has been focused on features. He and Garant are writing Night at the Museum 3 and Rent A Ghost for 20th Century Fox and Baywatch for Paramount. He also co-directed and co-wrote with Garant and starred in Hell Baby, which premiered at the recent Sundance film festival and is currently negotiating a distribution deal. As an actor, Lennon, repped by CAA and Principato-Young, has co-starred in Bad Teacher, I Love You Man and The Dark Knight Rises and has recurred on Fox’s New Girl.
