Backing up recent rumours of an April reveal, CVG associate editor Rob Crossley made the claim on Twitter, citing a "trusted source," Digital Spy reported. A recent domain registration also points to an April reveal, with the "XboxEvent.com" domain name set up by an events management company linked to Microsoft, according to VG247. Microsoft is said to have been caught off guard by Sony's PlayStation 4 announcement, possibly changing the timing of its plans to unveil the new Xbox. Alleged Xbox 720 patent filings suggest Microsoft's next console will feature two CPUs, one for gaming and another for multimedia applications. It claimed that the Xbox 720 will launch during the 2013 holiday season and feature Kinect 2.0, 3D technology and the long-rumoured Xbox TV. Sony, meanwhile, recently announced the PS4 at an event last week. Compared to a "supercharged PC", it features an x86 CPU, enhanced PC GPU and 8GB RAM. EA recently confirmed shooter sequel Battlefield 4 for next generation systems.
