Azeris sabotage Sumgait pogroms anniv. event at French parliamentFebruary 27, 2013 - 11:54 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A fight broke out between Armenians and Azeris at the French parliament Tuesday, February 26 during an ARF Dashnaktsutyun-organised meeting in commemoration of Sumgait victims. According to witnesses, two people refused to stand up and observe a minute of silence in memory of the Armenians killed in Sumgait, one of them screaming out "I'm here for those killed in Khojalu." The outburst was followed by a fight which was later stopped through police intervention. The incident was condemned by the Azeri ambassador present at the event. The fight was provoked for the benefit of Azeri media covering the meeting, French journalist Jean Eckian told PanARMENIAN.Net "The provocation is unacceptable. We'll rally outside Azeri embassy to protest the incident," Mourad Papazian the co-chairman of the Co-ordination Council of Armenian organisations of France (CCAF) said.
