Instagram celebrates 100 million users milestone

PanARMENIAN.Net - Instagram has celebrated passing the 100 million user mark, Digital Spy said.

Company co-founder Kevin Systrom announced the news in a blog post on Tuesday evening (February 26), in which he thanked users of the service for sharing their photos and building a community.

Systrom acknowledged that the user milestone was a triumph for the firm, but said that he thinks "the truth is that it's an accomplishment for our community".

Sharing stories of a cross-section of Instagram users - including a couple who began dating after meeting via the service - he concluded: "Instagram, as a tool to inspire and connect, is only as powerful as the community it is made of. For this reason, we feel extremely lucky to have the chance to build this with all of you.

"So from our team to the hundred million people who call Instagram home, we say thank you. Thank you for sharing your world and inspiring us all to do the same."
