“Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” director to helm “Flatliners” remake![]() February 27, 2013 - 15:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Flatliners remake may have found a director. Back in August of 2011, Sony Pictures tapped Source Code scribe Ben Ripley to pen the screenplay for a remake of Joel Schumacher’s 1990 thriller Flatliners, and now Bloody Disgusting reports that The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo director Niels Arden Oplev is attached to take the helm, Collider reported. The original flick stars a very young Kevin Bacon, Julia Roberts, Kiefer Sutherland, Oliver Platt, and Billy Baldwin and tells the story of a group of medical students who willingly induce clinical death in order to find out if there’s anything on the other side. Oplev makes his English-language directing debut next month with the thriller Dead Man Down starring Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace, and he’ll also be helming the pilot for CBS’ TV series adaptation of the Stephen King novel Under the Dome.
