Action in support of Raffi Hovannisian held in Paris

PanARMENIAN.Net - On March 8, 50 people gathered outside the Armenian embassy in Paris with a demand to announce the results of RA presidential elections as invalid. As French journalist Jean Eckian reported, the action was initiated by “Armenian renaissance” movement, in support of Heritage leader Raffi Hovannisian.

“We always follow the developments in Armenia and urge the authorities to refrain from any use of force and provocations against citizens,” the movement’s press release says.

Armenian embassy in France, in turn, issued a statement.

“With deep respect for people’s right for freedom of speech and protection of principles, Armenian embassy in Paris states that no person or group of people has the right to express the viewpoint of all Armenian community of France. The embassy supports the Armenian citizens based in France, holding commitment to universal values of tolerance, dialogue and mutual respect,” the statement reads.
