Sony unveils Xperia SP and L Android smartphones![]() March 18, 2013 - 16:16 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Sony has unveiled the Xperia SP and L Android smartphones, targeting the budget smartphone market as it continues to grow its product portfolio, v3.co.uk reports. The two smartphone's were unveiled on Monday, March 18 just days after rival Samsung unleashed its flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone. The Xperia SP is the better specced of the two, looking like a downsized version of Sony's flagship Xperia Z handset. The SP features a 4.6in 720p HD Reality display, is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and runs off Google's Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. The phone also comes equipped with an 8MP camera with Exmor RS sensor, which is designed to help its performance when shooting in Low light. The SP is confirmed to feature integrated NFC, 8GB of expandable storage and support for 4G LTE. Although there is currently no word on price, from its specs it is likely the Xperia L will be the cheaper of the two, v3.co.uk says. The L features a 4.3in FWVGA screen and a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It also comes with an 8MP rear-facing camera and will also be powered by Android 4.1. Partner news Microsoft revealed last week that it received 6-7,000 requests implicating 31-32,000 accounts in the last six months. It is believed that Fisa requests typically seek much more information. But it remains unclear how broad the Fisa orders might be. The acquisitions are the latest in a string under Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, who is rebuilding the company on the fly. By mid-July, users will get to apply for IDs of their choice, and will find out which one they have got by mid-August. Partner news |
