Defense ministry, CoE reps discuss human rights protection![]() March 22, 2013 - 18:14 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On March 22, Armenia’s First Deputy Defense Minister David Tonoyan met with the representatives of the group of Council of Europe Committee of Ministers on democracy. Armenian defense ministry’s powers and the course of their implementation were discussed, with the delegation members particularly dwelling on the democratic and civil control of RA armed forces, as well as cooperation with NGOs, aiming to raise awareness on human rights protection, combating corruption and trafficking, defense ministry’s press service reported. Tigran Sargsyan: the authorities will do the utmost in the coming 4-5 years to ensure favorable conditions for the people. Members of all parliamentary groups, PM, Energy Minister and the chair of the Public Services Regulatory Commission were invited to participate.
