Motorola X to feature 4.8-inch sapphire display – reportMarch 26, 2013 - 16:11 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The mystery Motorola X smartphone will arrive in stores in November packing a near-indestructible sapphire screen, according to a report, Digital Spy said. PhoneArena cites an alleged inside source claiming that the Android handset will feature a 4.8-inch display made of the robust glass and run off a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip. Sapphire screens are approximately three times harder to crack than the gorilla glass found in many high-end smartphones, but are considered a costly alternative for manufacturers. Other rumoured specs for the Motorola X include 2GB of RAM, waterproofing, a 4,000mAh battery providing all-day power and a carbon-fibre back. The smartphone is said to be a collaboration between Motorola and parent company Google, which could serve as the launch vehicle for the web giant's rumoured Android 5.0 Key Lime operating system. While this is all currently speculation, the new Motorola phone and Key Lime Pie could feature at Google's I/O developer event in May 2013.
