Yerevan to host Armenian-U.S. emergency exercises

PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of Armenian Rescue Service Sergey Azaryan met with Kansas National Guard delegation, with Captain Aaron Isaacson, Lt. Col. Brent Salmans and embassy representative Ani Melkumyan among them.

Discussion of Armenian-U.S. emergency exercises, as well as trainings for 911 service employees due in summer in Yerevan were put on the meeting agenda.

Rescue Service head briefed the guests on the works aiming to boost the efficiency of crisis management center and 911 service, announcing a plan to set up relevant centers in Armenian provinces.

“We highly assess the development of Armenian ministry of emergency situations. The exercises due in summer will enable to test the activity of the newly-established crisis management center and 911 service. We stand ready to contribute to the conduction of qualification trainings,” Mr Salmans said.

An agreement was reached to organize an exercise planning conference, with representatives of local and international institutions to be present.
